Default cRIO Imaging - Help needed

We ar having trouble with imaging the cRIO

We wired up everything for the bench tests and that went ok. Downloaded the updated firmware on the DS, which appeared to work ok. Unfortunately made a mistake in setting the team number on the DS before trying to re-image the cRIO.
When applying the cRIO imaging tool get the following message on the Reconfiguring Device window on Laptop: "the specified IP address is unreachable, ensure the the IP address is on the current subnet"

    The DS station window shows:
    Team: 2067
    Mode: Teleoperated
System: Disabled (this does not change when switching the dongle - it did before when doing the initial bench testing)
    Battery: No Comms

Can anyone tell me how to proceed?

There's a couple things you could do. The easiest might be to reflash the firmware on the DS, which will erase the team number. Then you can follow the directions in order.

The other option is to connect your computer directly to the cRIO, and then do the imaging.

    Hope that helps.

Ok the DS was reflashed and that initially looked ok, team number set back to 0.

But when I reboot now Team, Mode and System come up sometimes saying "invalid" (all three) or they will come up appearing ok - but unresponsive to either the Auto/Tele or the dongle.

cRio imaging tool is not finding cRio

Seems like I am having an issue with the communication from the DS to cRIO - The ethernet chord (from kit) shows the data lights on each side, and the cRIO LEDs are all good.

The DS is just a switch, it shouldn't prevent you from talking to the cRIO.

    Please check the following:

    1. What is the IP address of the laptop ethernet port?

    START->ControlPanel->Network Connections
Double-Click on Local area network Connection
Double Click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
Click on "Use the Following IP Address"
and enter 10,xx,yy,6 where xx.yy is your team number
    Subnet mask: 255.0.0.0

Try connecting directly to the cRIO with this IP address and see what happens.

    Thanks to both who responded.

I am learning more by messing up!

We have a happy bench platform - motors are spinning again to the joysticks!

What was it that worked? I expect that more people will have this problem.

Also it should be mentioned that you need to use a crossover cable if you were to hook your computer directly to the cRIO that you use a cross-over CAT5 cable. In the preshipment box we recived one, and it was colored orange.

Reflashing the DS drive to get the team number back to zero was helpful.

Getting the IP address correct and directly hooking up to the Crio for reimaging it was good, then I could make sure the IP addresses were all set. and solved the communication issues.

After that you will see that I had more trouble which I started another thread on - see Joystick anomaly. Still having some issues there. Your throttle tip was good but I am still not getting full arcade mode or autonomous mode to work correctly. see the other thread for more detail.

    I appreciate the help!

One more thing I forgot to mention is that the DS reporting "invalid" is normal if you haven't set the team number with the new firmware.

Since the directions in 1.6 don't have you set the team number immediately, you shouldn't worry about seeing it say invalid.

This was mentioned in the troubleshooting section 5.7.2.
