Default Tracking colors with light changes

We were playing around with the camera today, when someone turned off some of the lights. Much to our surprise, the camera kept tracking almost as well as it had before.

calibrate_image.jpg shows the ball we were finding in the light that we calibrated for. dark_image.jpg shows the camera finding the ball in the dark. CellPhone_dark.jpg shows the same view from a cell phone, which shows that the image sensor on the Axis camera is much better then that on the typical cell phone.

I think this bodes very well for the varied lighting conditions that are seen at competitions.

The code we were using is based on the find color example in LabVIEW.

A new game idea! Play in the dark, just using image-processed cameras!

Can you explain what you mean by calibrated for light and dark?
