Default Running two robots with 1 router

Today, we set up a second control system to run on the same router as the first. Doing this allows teams to save spending $200 on a router for a second control system, and also minimizes the chance of wireless interference.

These instructions are written from memory.

Set up the first system completely.

    On the second system:
Complete section 1.6.3 for the tethered benchtop test.
Complete section 1.6.5, except use a different team number (we used 331).
In section 5.6.1, connect the computer directly to the bridge and use a static IP address of 192.168.1.6. Follow the rest of the directions in 5.6.1, except using the different team number, except set the "wireless network name" to your real team number (which is the same as you set on the router when you initially configured it).
Connect your second DS to the original router and your bridge to the cRIO and repeat the benchtop tests. It should "just work".

One disadvantage of this setup is that the router's netmask is 255.255.255.0. Thus is you configure your computer to use DHCP, you will only be able to program the original robot. You'll need to use a static IP and netmask of 255.0.0.0 if you want to communicate will all the robots.

We now have 3 robots running from 1 router. See the following video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a19B9WHmVg8
