Just want to give a heads up to those getting Truck 6, one of the white Roomba's was not working at all for us this weekend in NYC.
O yea, sorry. Forgot to mention we had that problem at Finger Lakes week 1, same truck. The best I could figure out was that it had something to do with the contacts in the dust bin. It seems like there are 2 contacts on it to let it not run without the bin and for whatever reason that bot gets a lot of dust on them. If I wiped off the contacts before plugging it in, sometimes it worked. If I didn't, it wouldn't charge and wouldn't run.
Not sure if thats what's actually happening or if the bot is just flaky but we did get it to work some of the time just not consistently.

I'll bring a vacum cleaner, as backup for LI.
There was no regular sized vacuum in truck 6, just the 2 working roombas and the 3rd that only worked when it felt like it. We borrowed a regular vacuum for the weekend from the facility.
Sorry to hear some probs with the Roombas. As you may know I am know as Mr.Roomba..having obtained some donated ones for my supply to some fields.
The contacts at the dust bin are for powering the fine dust pick up motor. The roombas normally can run with out the Dust Bin attached at all and will successfully charge with out the Dust Bin installed.
I assume and suggest you do not use the HOme BAse Charge thing just plug into the side of the Roomba direct. This is a more positive connection..although for SHOW the self "docking " function is a crowd pleaser.
For other Crowd pleaser Roomba Antics I set one or two up on the Bumps and also on the Tower Platform.
Also during "roomba Dance" one can pust the "spot " buttons at same time and you have a fairly choreographed duo.... for about 3 minutes. Good for Fill Time.
Also The "escaping Roombas" is good for fun esp when they get out thru the Judges area or dance area. (of course you can defeat this by closing the gates or setting up the Virtural Walls. Using the Virtual Walls is how I force cleaning of the outer Drivers area.
Good luck, Brogan, Mr.Roomba.
