    Default Field Management System Demo

    Hello Scorekeepers,

Use the link below to download necessary installers and documentation to setup the demo version of FMS. I recommend using this software in conjunction with the FMS User Guide to become familiar with the software prior to your event(s).

On Windows 7 I was only able to get the software to install successfully by disabling UAC. However, after installing, it takes a very long time to load. The Event Manager sits for minutes on just the blue background, and the audience screen stays all white for minutes before loading anything. I don't remember seeing these delays in the webinar. Is this because it is sitting waiting for the field hardware to respond?

Windows 7 support is definitely not guaranteed when using FMS. Your feedback is useful though as it will help iron out bugs going forward. Is it any different if you run the FMS applications in XP Compatibility mode?

I know that support for Win7 is not available yet, but I figured id give it a shot anyways.

I tried installing the executables in compatability mode:Right click -> properties -> Compatability -> check box for run this in compatability mode for a previous version of windows.

    The installs ran fine.

After the installs ran, I changed all of the executables created as shortcuts in the menu by setting "run as admin" and "run in compatability mode for winxpsp3"

The FMS executable crashes every time it runs.

Let me know if I can help with more useful debugging!

I couldn't get it to install in Windows 7 with UAC enabled. The installation program itself ran fine in compatibility mode, but when it ran the FMS.Util.Shell.exe program, that program wouldn't work since it wasn't running in compatibility mode. Unfortunately, that program not working caused the installer to halt and uninstall whatever it had done.

Anyone who is running Windows 7 Professional or Windows 7 Ultimate can download a utility called XP Compatibility Mode. It is essentially just a virtual machine but the link below will tell you whether your computer will work or not. Again this will NOT work with Windows 7 Starter (netbooks shouldn't run it anyway) or Windows 7 Home Premium.

So downloading this compatibility utility allows you to run FMS Demo on your Win7 machine? It was unclear from your post.

Yes. XP Mode is a virtual machine of Windows XP Professional SP3.

It takes less then 1 min to start both the audience and fms software.
