Default velcro sticker legal to use in base?

Is it legal to use the stickers with velcro surfaces? I can't find any rules that explicitly say it is not allowed. The sheet of these squares that came with the set don't say they are made by lego though.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts/pointers...

The dual lock is not made by LEGO. It is made by 3M. You can not use them on your robot.

But they come inside the box as part of the field set made by Lego... Wouldn't that make them legal? And again, we don't need to use them on the robot but to hold some part of the attachment down in the base firmly... Is that allowed? Thanks.

The dual lock can only be used as intended to hold down the field models on the field. You can't use it on a jig or attachment in base. Also, when you go to a tournament you aren't allowed to stick things down to their mat, so you couldn't put a dual lock square in the base at a tournament for your attachment to attach to with dual lock (or even LEGO stickers if you had some). And again....it's not made by LEGO, despite it coming with the field kit, so it's not allowed to be used other than as intended for the field set up. Look in the section on the game setup about dual lock and you will see it mentions the dual lock is made by 3M.

Can you make a sturdy base for your attachment or weigh it down (with LEGO pieces) so it will stay in place legally? Or maybe you can come up with another way to approach the mission.

Perhaps you can get some of the weighted bricks like the ones used in the Space Elevator during the NanoQuest season. I'm sure you could find them at one of the many online lego resellers. Good luck.

That sounds like an excellent idea... I tried to search for nanoQuest as well as weight heavy etc on bricklink but can't find any pieces like that... Any other pointers please? Thanks.

There may be others but 73090b is a boat weight.

This is the weight being discussed. It's called a train weight because it was originally used to generate traction on Lego train models.
