    Default Ball replacement at competitions

It seems that many teams are reporting that the balls are degenerating rapidly after 100-200 shots, which seems like a number that could happen with ease at a competition. While some wear on the game objects in past FRC games has been expected, there's historically been some sort of binary method (i.e. a popped or obviously deflated ball, or a broken tetra clover) to determine that a game piece needs replacement.

That said, has FIRST determined a point where a Poof ball is officially Too Pooped To Play?

An official point of a ball not being useful has not yet been determined.

FIRST will attempt to get the maximum use of all playing objects, while still ensuring the objects are useful to teams.

Teams should not expect that all scoring objects will remain in an "as new" condition for the entire event.
