    Default Mercotac Slip Rings

We were looking at the MercoTac slip ring connectors.

The devices have a sealed compartment which contains a small amount of liquid mercury for conductance. The are used widely in industry but I wanted make sure they pass the FIRST safety standards before purchasing.

    Are these OK?

As long as they are left in the standard, off the shelf condition so that there is no potential for escape of the mercury, and they satisfy the constraints in the 2006 parts use flowchart and the parts constraints in Section 5.3.5, they are permissible.
