    Default USB Camera data

Have a question when using the USB camera when connected to the rooboRio. We are able to get video feed to the dashboard and smart dashboard. But here is the question, we are trying to get the video feed to the RoboRealm software. I have been in contract with RoboRealm support and they have been extremely helpful. I have indicated that the USB camera data comes from the roboRio on port 1180 and have been unable to get into roboRealm for processing. I think we are close but to help I'm looking for the C++ source files. I believe these files where available in past years under Windriver but I have been unable to find this year under Eclipse. I have been able to find the include .h header files but no C++ files.

Is it possible to get the C++ files to help rooRealm support to get the USB camera data to the RoboRelam program.

    Thanks,

    Hi Pete,

You are correct that the source is not currently packaged with the Eclipse plugins. Currently you can browse the source on the web or use Git to clone the WPILib repo. Instructions for each are available on the WPILib project page on Collab.net (in the box under Welcome to the WPILib project!)

Just an update, working with Roborealm support they have been able to get the USB camera feed into the Roborealm software for processing. They have added a new camera module FRC Camera server to take camera data from the roborio on port 1180. The Roborealm software would just need to updated to the latest version to get this feature.

After analyzing photos, how can I send the data back to roboRIo? The data is stored as txt files in my laptop, but when I use "fscanf" to read. the drive station automatically turns disabled. Is there anything wrong with my method? Or how do you send the data back?
    thx for any help

Fscanf is for reading file system files. The file is on the DS, you can't read it with fscanf on the roboRIO as the file is not on the roboRIO. You need to send the data using a network method. You can either use NetworkTables or design your own network protocol.

How are you analyzing the images?

I use RoboRealm to analyze, and the data are returned in txt form. Does NetworkTable work with Roborealm? Could you give a detailed instruction on the method?
    thx for help!

The "Communication" tutorial on the RoboRealm FRC 2016 tutorials page should help: http://www.roborealm.com/FRC2016/index.php

Is it true that the ROBOREALM can only obtain the image from the Dashboard on the driverstation when it's connected with the roboio via USB? Is it possible that the ROBOREALM can obtain the image from the DS when it's wireless connected.

No, RoboRealm can acquire an image from the roboRIO when the roboRIO is connected wirelessly. If you have specific questions about RoboRealm you will likely get better support on the RoboRealm forums on this page: http://www.roborealm.com/FRC2016/index.php
