OM5P-AN Radio Flashing

I can flash the OM5P using AndyMark instructions, but that is the wrong firmware version. I tried using the FRC Radio Configuration Utility (FRC_Radio_Configuration_16_2.exe), but get the error message:

Bridge firmware load failed: Error finding NPF device name for adapter: <name of adapter>
Please reset the bridge and try again

There are a few posts on Chief Delphi with other people getting that message, but no one has posted a response on how to resolve it.

I disabled all other internet connections (wifi, etc), and turned off antivirus. Still the same problem.

The problem happens after the program load, selecting the only operating network interface, and clicking on the "Load Firmware" button. I never get to the screen that says something like "listening for ...", so the OM5P is never turned on.

The Configuration Progress window says

Hi Rich,

That error indicates that the software is having an issue mapping between the adapter name selected from the dialog box and the WinPCap name (what shows up when you run the command line tool from the AndyMark Instructions). If you could locate the frcwpakiosk.log file from the C:\Program Files (x86)\FRC Radio Configuration Utility directory (remove the x86 portion if not on a 64-bit OS) and attach it here (you may need to rename to .txt to attach) it should contain some additional information that will help me understand the issue.

Attached is the log file. I renamed the extension to .txt.

Hmmm...Looks like the published build didn't have all of the debugging info I expected in the log so this gives us 1 piece of the puzzle instead of both. Based on your posts on CD it sounds like you can get ap-51 to work properly on this machine when run manually. Can you copy/paste or screenshot the output when you run it with no parameters?

I'll try to get it Wednesday evening. It displays the 2 adapters (hardwire and wifi).

Sorry about the delay. I forgot to post the results.

Attached are the JPG and related Log file. We have 4 DS laptops, so this makes sure that the log and jpg files are consistent with each other.

That does clearly show me the first level cause of the issue (the difference in adapter name between what the ap51 program is coming up with and what the radio configuration utility is getting from Java) but I have so far been unable to reproduce the issue on the Classmates I have here with Windows 10.

I have implemented a workaround that should select the adapter if there is only one active on the system, if you get a chance could you try installing this version, making sure all other adapters (even if not connected) are disabled, then trying to load the firmware? https://usfirst.box.com/s/5hppg67xqa...davdyai15b8jap

It worked on one of our laptops. I have not been able to test it on our other laptops.

I suggest putting it in Friday's Team Update so other people can use it.

We also were unable to re-flash one of our OM5P radios after having flashed it prior to kickoff using AndyMark instructions & firmware. After downloading this latest version, we were able to get the proper firmware loaded to it. Thanks!
