Default Tips on how to practice for the animal conservation mission at home

We are a new team and students want to attempt the animal conservation mission. We have one table at school as opposed to two connected tables at the qualifier. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to set up this mission model so that we can practice it at school? I am wondering if adding another 2 x 4 along the north wall is what other teams typically do.

A short chunk (8" long or less) of 2x4 and a piece of plywood to provide provide a mini table surface. Round all the corners because you are going to bump into this thing a lot. I made one 14 years ago and it's worked for every shared mission model.
