    Default <R04> Wedge Rule

<R04> states that all parts of a robot between 0 and 8.5 inches from the ground that "might push against another robot" be within 10 degrees of vertical. Would a wedge that is recessed in the interior of the robot be allowed? For example, a gap in the front middle of the robot that is 12" wide x 12" tall, with a wedge recessed 4" behind the front of the robot that will help eject balls out the opening. For such a structure to "push against" another robot, the other robot would have to extend a narrow projection inside the recessed cavity.

The recessed wedge as described here appears to be acceptable. However, if it somehow interacted with other robots, it would be a violation of <R04>.
