Bumper on Ramp

Can the bumpers be raised temporarily raised out of the bumper zone to allow the robot to climb the ramp. A robot with a wheel base of about 25" has to have about 4" clearance to not get stuck on the ramp. Can the bumpers be mounted to slide up a bit while on the ramp, but be in their proper position the rest of the match? Alternatively can the bumpers be hinged to allow the front to raise up to clear the ramp?

The bumpers cannot move vertically with respect to the robot. The bumpers cannot be "notched" to make clearance for the ramp, but can be omitted (gaps) in the critical areas.
