A: The number of qualifying matches is dependant on a number of factors. Number of teams, number of playing fields and the length of the competition are among them. The number of matches will vary greatly based on these factors.

As for the elimination rounds, the tournament structure is described in Section 3.5 and Section 3.7 of the manual.

*Although the power is off to the robot, it will still need to hang without any power?

A: The platform is not powered. If it is being spun by a robot at the end of the match, once the power to the robot is shut off the platform will eventually stop rotating.

At the end of the match the referees will wait until all objects and bots come to rest before scoring the field. If a robot makes contact with the platform or floor after power is shutoff it will not be counted as hanging.

A: Per Rule 7.5, only the Winning Alliance Award winners and the Challenge Inspire Award winner are eligible for the Championship Event. Currently there are no slots at the Championship this year for teams that do not qualify through the awards.

A: The event will be run in very similar fashion to the regional Championship events except that it takes place over a two day period. Mini-tournaments or "divisions" will not be part of the tournament structure.

A: This information is not yet available and as much of it as possible will be distrbuted to teams when it is finalized.
