    Default Trackball scoring while hurdling

    Reference:

7.2 Definitions "Hurdle: When a trackball crosses a finish line while passing above the overpass and then contacts either the floor or another Robot before re-contacting the originating robot.

7.3.3.2 Trackball scoring "<G11> Each trackball that hurdles its own finish line will earn 8 points. . ."

The question arises if the driver's aim is poor and the ball hurdles the overpass (through the vertical plane defining crossing) before continuing over the guardrails and out of the field, does the score count? Does the alliance trackball still score the 8 points from <G11>?

If the Trackball did not touch the floor or another robot before it went out of play, then it did not satisfy the conditions outlined in the definition of a "Hurdle." Therefore, it is not scored as a Hurdle.

For the purists, the “floor” (along with everything else on the Track) is defined relative to the field/arena. The relevant portion of the floor is that region within the arena boundaries.
