Just thought we would share; several of our members have watched the movie Food Inc.; we are all hoping to get to it.
Not suited watching material close to eating time.... Best of luck to all. |

Just watched the first part of it during lunch today. It is not for the faint of heart that is for sure. Had to close my eyes during part of the beef processing.

We have an opportunity as a team to go on a USDA inspection of a Tyson poultry processing facility. Our kids are psyched but because some parents saw Food Inc, *they* don't want to go. ;-) The chief investigator that I talked to said that even Food Inc didn't show the worst of the worst. Could be very eye opening and we might be creating 9 future vegetarians!

Team watched Food Inc. Friday night! Now my 12 yr old daughter wants to be a vegetarian. She went with my wife shopping and now wants certified organic products, turned down cold cuts and has made two great meals for dinner Saturday and Sunday! (easy cookbooks Indian). Have to say I am already feeling better and will let her guide the family change. So far this project has made a real impact on us. Can't wait to see what our next meeting discussion will be!

I did the same thing went I went grocery shopping this past weekend. I was really selective in what I bought and I did end up with a lot more certified organic products.
