Default Selecting Team Members

Hello,
I am wondering if anyone would be willing to share how they select their team members. I spoke with some coaches at our state championship that uses a application form. Would anyone be willing to share theirs? I so want to include all of the students who want to participate, but I can not. So wondering how I go about finding the right students.
Thanks,
Julie Leonard

It is a tough question. If you have too many students for one team then make two teams. Talk to the parents and find someone to coach second team.

Hi,

I'm looking to start a FLL at my school and I have many children willing to be part of the team. I would love so much to take all of them, it's hard to select them as they are very talented. Anyway, I am also interested in an application form if somebody is willing to share.

Thanks!

How about letting the application process cull the field to those who are really interested. A lot of boys in particular think FLL is all about playing with LEGO. Many are disappointed when they find out how wrong that is. Hold an information meeting to make sure everyone knows what they are getting themselves into (including parents). Have all interested team members write an essay or report. If that doesn't drop the numbers enough you can do a lottery.

I think LEGO is a game that will never get old.it's so exciting, and if you have imagination you can do whatever you want with it

The best thing about two teams is that they can inspire each other throughout the season. I find that my teams have become most interested in doing more on the day of the tournament(s). Scrimmaging will generate some early activity.
