Has anyone seen these matierials? they are being offered on the registration website for $300. I'm very curious to find out what is included (more than the description that is given).

As far as I know there are 2 versions. One version has just the field set up kit similar to FLL plus a training mat on the other side. That version goes for $174.99 and again is only the mat and pieces.
The $300 also includes a teachers binder which has what they called Activity pack which is a 7 training activities and student worksheet. you can look more in the lego website and there are several videos on Youtube

Thank you for the link.
This looks like good materials for a rookie team.

My (veteran) team and I have just spent the last week using the Green City Challenge kit to teach a collection of children during a school holiday robotics workshop.

IMO (and speaking purely from a robotics viewpoint) the set is a good resource for both rookie and veteran teams.

Each of the individual Missions operates on three levels of difficulty, meaning the set can challenge both novice and experienced students. I also threw in some "Extras" to challenge those that were getting a little too sure of themselves

There's plenty of opportunity for sensor use and creative solutions. The mat also fits on an FLL table, taking up about 2/3 of the board.

We finished the workshop with an FLL-style competition, with the students running their robots on the board under tournament rules. It worked VERY well and we hope to turn this interest into a new FLL team or two.

I'm more than happy to provide extra information if you need anything specific.
