Thank you Dean, you are correct as usual. I also found the two parts HERE in www.bricklink.com. I'll have to show the team and see if they think these parts can be used somewhere on their robot. I think I'll buy some for myself and play around with them. I've been in many situations building a demobot or just messing around that some part of the robot or model was not level and this just may help resolve that type of issue depending on the incremental angle each detent provides.

I don't think the lock is all that strong. I have some different parts with a similar locking mechanism. They work great for making poseable figures, but it doesn't take much force to adjust the angle. For a locking adjustable part you might want to look at "4273 Technic Connector Toggle Joint Toothed" or maybe even "3737c01 Technic Axle 10 Threaded" and "4698 Technic Axle Nut". I once used the friction locking characteristic of the worm gear to create a leveling adjustment.
