Default Buying an additional Field Setup Kit

I have a team of 8 this year. We have this option of having two houses where we can practice. I was wondering if there was any way I could purchase another Field Kit for Senior Solutions.

Are there teams out there that don't purchase a field kit b/c they are sharing w/ another team? If so, could I buy your field kit?

Does anyone know the reasoning behind the FLL rule about this issue?

Thanks!

You can reach me at estherlee5995@comcast.net.

I was wondering the same thing. I have two tables setup in the basement. Currently the team has Body Forward setup on one and Food Factor on the other.

When you look at the pricing when you register, it has the following statement.

Quote:
Field Setup Kit (Limit of 1 per team - this item is needed to participate in FLL, but multiple teams may share)
I interpret that as each registered team can only order 1 Field Kit. If a school has multiple FLL teams they could end up with multiple field kits. If they met on different days at the school they could potentially use more than one field kit at a time. If however your FLL team meets independently then you can only get 1.

I do like you thinking though.... if there is a team that is registering and NOT ordering a field kit, I would love to buy theirs ! I can be reached at mkabot @ soarol.com

I think that the mat and mission models are worth more than the $65 charged to the teams. Kits are sometimes found on eBay for double the cost. The one per team restriction may be in recognition that Lego and 3M (I think they make the mat), are providing the kits at a discount.

I phoned FLL in New Hampshire and the person on the other end said their reason for limiting the kits was that they only have so many mats printed and pieces and so they wanted to make sure every team who signed up would have one.

That seems reasonable.
