Maybe that is why Scott gave the hint about shielding light sensors? They may need to be higher off the mat this year.

Team #?
Yes but even without flattening the mat with heavy items in a matter of 6+ hours it will most likely improve to a usable state. Also from my experience of tournament mats there is always issues. Some of the regionals tournaments I have been to even have had tables that have been sawed in half and latched/ bolted together. Not to mention the walls which are always almost impossible to scale along because the robot usually gets hung up in an impurity in the wood.

Hey all, I'm back ~

We've been on vacation for the last week. Of course the kit came the day after we left so I had to wait ALL WEEK!

Anyways, we're team #270, and we received it last Wednesday. We unfolded it and placed 2 dozen books all across it to try to flatten it out.. but I'm a bit worried (like mentioned before) about the reliability of tournament mats this year, hopefully they'll be on the ball and get them out and flattened.

What does everyone think of the models? We're building them this afternoon, but we've already seen the videos on YouTube demonstrating some of the models. The stairs wobbling totally caught me off guard! We will definitely be tackling that issue..-

One last thing.. has anyone gotten the mats relatively flat, and how long did it take?

Sorry for the rambling ~

After a couple days of placing books on it and a week of it just sitting out it is doing much better.
