Default Minibot Switches

Is it permitted to fabricate switches for your minibot, assuming they are constructed entirely of materials on the permitted materials list?

Thanks!

You should ask this in the official Q&A to get an official answer.

In my opinion, you should expect intense scrutiny from the inspectors regarding <R101>.

Regards,

Mike

Also an unofficial answer, but I think "intense scrutiny" is too soft a term. If you run electric current through a mechanism you make of polycarbonate and aluminum, versus a UL approved switch, I would expect them to make you prove your mechanism is safe. Consider that their notion of safe is a light switch designed for 120V and 15A (1800W). You'd need to show your mechanism is "as safe". Proof will be hard to produce in the time available. If you want to make a clever mechanism to toggle the COTS household light switch, that's probably a better idea.
