Default Field Monitor

I am not able to join you on Tuesdays, but after listening to the recording, I wanted to post a couple things in the forum.
First off, I noticed the description of the new monitor in the manual. It looks like some great improvements! Would there be a possibility of us getting the exe for the monitor program?
Even though the program will be installed on the FTA computer, I can easily see FTA's still asking us to look into possible connection problems and such while they do the different things on their checklist. Having it available on an extra laptop or something to look through while matches are running would be really handy.
Just some thoughts,
-Alex

Or maybe give the backup server an option to run it in offline mode if it doesn't already... I'm assuming there's a switch for the monitor/keyboard/etc to flip between the two servers...

Hi Alex,

All the information on the Field Monitor is available through the main Event Manager interface. We basically took the specific information that the FTA's felt was most relevant, formatted it so it would be readable from across the field, and put that on the Field Monitor interface.

The basic detail which appears at the top of the screen in Match Test and Match Play is 80% of the info that's on the Field Monitor. If you flip over to the Status tab in Match Test or Match Play, you'll also see the Avg Trip times and Missed Packets.

At this time, I'd prefer not to provide the Field Monitor exe. It makes troubleshooting issues more difficult if there are other machines running on the network that we either don't know about, or aren't expecting.

The backup server is just that, a backup machine. If there is a problem with the primary machine, it's critical that the backup server be available. It's best if it's left to only be used when absolutely necessary.

Will the FTAA computer still come equipped with the Field Monitor software?

I didn't read into the FTA / A book just yet but I will be really soon =)...

Not sure if you remember me Matt - It's Mike - I was FTAA for the NYC and LI Regionals for the past couple of years. I'll be at LI - looking forward to a smooth event this year =). Here's hoping to not asking you too many questions during the event.
