  • Seeking an Animal Allies mat

We're starting a new FLL team at the Golden Library. Since we learned about FLL too late to start a team for this year, we're going to generate interest by running a mock team now, and then have a real team next year. To that end, we're seeking an Animal Allies mat (and, if possible, the models). We don't have much of a budget, but we could purchase these items from you if you're willing to pass them on to us and pay for shipping.

    Thanks!

There are two available here: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from...llies&_sacat=0

Alternatively, you could print out a full-size mat by scrolling 2/3 of the way down TechBrick's webpage -- look for "Mat Art": http://techbrick.com/Lego/Lego2016/Resources/index.html .
You could order these needed Robot Game parts from Bricklink.com: http://www.firstlegoleague.org/missi...sfp=2812028508

@ nlb925: If it's not THAT important to have THIS SEASON's FLL Field Setup Kit, would you consider buying a kit from a previous FLL season? You could save a lot of money from buying an older kit: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from...eague&_sacat=0 .

Also, if you wait another month or so (after more FLL teams have finished their "Animal Allies" season), you'll see many more kits for sale. You may be able to get a much better price then. Be advised that the "Challenge Set" (formerly known as the Field Setup Kit) only cost USD$75 (CanadaD$109.95) in the first place, per http://www.firstinspires.org/robotic...ng-and-payment .

Yes, we're definitely considering buying an older kit, thanks for the link. This year, we didn't have the budget to pay for the Challenge Set when it was new, so we definitely can't buy one that's been marked up. We didn't realize that they became collectibles after the season ended, but of course we're realizing now that teams often keep their old sets for practice.

Re: Seeking an Animal Allies mat

Last year, FIRST sold kits for the 'non-challenge' season in the spring sometime. I don't recall the price or know if they'll do that again.
Presumably, they made more kits and mats than they had teams and needed a way to deal with the excess.

Talk to your local Partner. After the season is over they will have several complete setups to either store or dispose of. Our former Partner used the Lego parts for JrFLL events and custom FLL trophies, but the mats????
