  • GIA Submissions

In case anyone is curious and doesn't know where to find the submissions for this year, here is the link:

    http://fllinnovation.firstlegoleague.org/teams

The deadline was yesterday for submissions. It looks like 108 teams have submitted for the GIA this year (I think this is down from last year? archive.org showed at least 10 pages with 20 for filled pages and whatever would be left for the final page).

There appear to be a lot of interesting projects listed there.

Good luck to these teams and the 20 semi-finalists will be notified mid-April. Those semi-finalist teams are then invited to send representatives to the Washington, D.C. area for awards presentations, announcing of the winner and runners up, and other activities June 21 and 22.

Disclaimer: Yes, the team I coach is one of the submissions.

It would makes sense that there was less teams this year since only one team per championship tournament was nominated to compete.

Good luck everyone! I know my team is already antsy waiting for the results.

It would appear that FIRST has protected the entries for this year so they are no longer accessible or visible.

Yeah, sure. Your "team" is on pins and needles. (Exaggerated air quotes)

Well considering I have many other things going on getting our annual budget ready for the nonprofit for this years teams and it's the kids emailing me asking, I really mean it's the kids. If it was me I would just say it. I'm blunt.

Looks like announcements may be forthcoming. Last year's winners are removed and website updated for 2016. Did anyone hear anything yet?
