  • Non-electric elements for robot

Our team is considering to use pneumatic system in our robot. Is it going to violate rule R06 of Robot Game? Will it be considered " factory-made wind-up/ pull back "motor"? We think it will be OK to use but we want to know for sure. We are getting very controversial answers. Thanks.

Pneumatics are not factory windup and are fine and fairly popular in FLL.

"Some examples" of wind up motors that are excluded:

Pneumatics are used by multiple teams in FLL. In my region, they used to be more popular before the EV3 came out, but some teams still use them. There's nothing in the rules which prohibit them.
