  • Voltage Divider

    Hello,
We are using the Allen-Bradley Rightsight PNP sensor to detect when we have the cargo in our claws. However, the sensor returns a max of 12V, while the RoboRIO's DIO will take a max of 5V. We were thinking about making a voltage divider to get the 12V down to 5V, especially since the amount of current running through the sensor is tiny. However, we are not sure about the legality of this "custom circuit." We saw rule R63, but are not sure how to interpret it in our situation. If any insight could be provided, or if any other rules seem pertinent, the help would be much welcomed!
    Thanks,
    - Team 7411
