  • Active Mechanisms to Control Ball Direction

We read <G45> of the The Game in the manual, and now we want clarification on our robot desisn. We want to put an unmoving chute on top of our robot that, while we are both hanging and not hanging from the tower, will deflect the balls falling off the ball return ramp to our alliance's side of the arena. We know that active mechanisms above the robot bumpers are not allowed to control ball direction. But since this proposed chute will not be "active" or moving, is it still legal to use it to control ball direction?

    The GDC has spoken: http://forums.usfirst.org/showthread...ghlight=active

So as long as the chute does not allow more than 3" of ball incursion (per <R19>/<G46>) you should be OK.
