  • Question about Raspberry Pi for FRC

    Greetings:
I am a mentor with team 5834 (Riverdale Collegiate in Toronto). The students on our team are keen to utilize the Raspberry Pi as a video co-processor and the rPi image for FRC is a big help. However, they would also like to do some processing and calculation with the incoming images (on the rPi) and relay the calculation results to the RoboRio. Surely this has been done before and I am wondering if there is a standard approach to do this using the Ethernet connection that is already there.
    Thanks!

    Hi Mark,

The standard approach you are looking for would be to download the example program from the PI in your desired language and then modify it to process the images and put whatever results you want to send over to the roboRIO into Network Tables (make sure to call flush() after for minimal latency). Then read the values out of Network Tables in your robot code.
